  1. I plan IiIII think I'm going to have a very interesting season myself. Gonna be doing some dredgeing, digging with my mini / mini excavator & feeding a highbanker, then moving up one sde of my claim and clearing some timber and overburden to check and see if it's bench off like I suspect, and of course with all that I'll do some metal detecting as well. And of course haveing some fun along the way. Happy & Safe Digging to You All !!!!!!!!
  2. Hello dredgernaut, sounds like you have a good summer planned, hope all gets the OK. Just wondering what type / make of mini excavator and trommel you are useing. Have a mini / mini myself and can feed a trommel or big banker, just curious.
  3. A little more spray in hopper ?
  4. Very Nice !!!!
  5. Thxs again Harry, looks like I will have to give the AT a shot. They say the AT is good to a 10ft depth, I am dredgeing at around 5ft. should be OK, only time in water will tell.
  6. Thxs Harry, I am also working bedrock with the G.B.2, so that sounds like that part is going to work. Now 2nd part is I am dredgeing in shallow water and would like to use the AT under water any time spent using it like that ?
  7. Has anyone used a Garrett Pro-Pointer AT Pinpointer ? And if so how did you like it ? Pros / Cons I am needing one that is waterproof and they say it's good to 10ft., that would work for me if it performs like they say. Would like to hear from someone other then manufacturer.
  8. Very nice ! Hope to find some quartz pc's like that on our claim's.
  9. Gold Bug 2 and Garrett AT Pro Pin Pointer
  10. Fall is definitly in the air here. Doing some rotten bedrock busting getting some nice fine but course ( if that makes any sense.) gold, along with a Gold Bug-2 with a 6" & 10" coils. It's just beutiful up at site. Also clearing and cutting in new trails to drop dwn. into canyon. Can never get enough done before snow reaches creek,it's already crowned the peaks and it's not termination dust. And when I get chased out of there I will be running some gold bearing crushed black sand from beach, over shaker table. (very fine / but very nice ! ) watching football ( college & pro ) while enjoying an adult beverage, dreaming of next season, life is good. GO BILLS !!!!!!
  11. If you dig it, you can fill it back in / if you pack it in, you can pack it out !! Simple !!!!!!
  12. Some of those mini-backhoes can dig a bit deeper, like mine can dig 12' deep.
  13. Very Nice !!!
  14. I have been trying to post photos of my fine gold recover methods and results, put my photo size is to large. I am most definitly not a computer guru, but I don't give up easy. I can say patience is definitely a must when working with concentrates smaller then 20 mesh.
  15. That's what I use on my shaker table.
  16. Garmins are a good make, many models to choose from.
  17. I have been told to call the Federal Forestry Ranger, my claim & claim's I take care of are all Federal claim's. It only makes sense they drive around giving ticket's like the Ak. State Trooper's, might as well let them do thier job, right ? I have also been instructed to provide the evidence, photo's from trail type camera's, face, license # or I.D. #'s the more the claim owner can produce the easier to take seriously and proscecute. My camera's are kept on claim property so as not to infringe on personnel privacy, which I have been told does not matter, I have the right to protect both mine and my mining partner's mineral's and mining equip. and I will add the the claim's are placarded up dwn. and sideway's no excuse's !!!! The folk's giving me this info. Alaska State Trooper's & Federal Forestry Ranger personnel. Unfortunately I think I will be testing this out this coming season.
  18. If I can figure out how to post photo's, I have some good pic's of a couple of Steam Donkey's that I took while prospecting in the old Fortuna Ledge Mining District this past fall. As well as some other old mining equip.
  19. Looking for info on a pc. of equip. made by Denver Manufacturing, it's a Joy T-24, I think it's some sort of wash plant. A friend has one coming by his shop from the Fairbanks area. I have looked up D.M.C. and it looks like they have been out of business since the 60's, they were bought out by a company called Svadala Industries and then Metso Minerals, I read the lot where they were located is now vacant. So anybody know anything on this ?
  20. I think your right Chris, will wait till it hit's his doorstep, will try to get some photo's and post so we can all see what type of equipment a Joy T-24 is. Thanks again !!!
  21. Thanks Jim & Chris for getting bck. to me, looking for info on a pc. of equip. made by Denver Manufacturing Company called Joy T-24. From what I am being told it's a oscillating type of wash plant. I am just trying to find this info out for a mining friend, not for me, he does not have internet access. But the 1st link Jim posted was in the right time frame 60's, but it's not a dry washer, from what I am being told. So I think we are headed in the right direction. So yes Chris any ansrew's to your question's would be great, if it's in reference to the Joy T-24. Thank you guy's for taking the time.
  22. Couldn't a prospector use a small high speed impact crusher as another choice ?
