Steve Herschbach (Inactive) 32 Report post Posted October 3, 2013 Here is a closeup of a 1.7 gram specimen I found recently near Winnemucca, NV with my White's GMT. This and a few other pieces are my first Nevada gold! The GMT is excellent on gold like this that PI detectors have a hard time seeing. 2 manVSgold and Ronald C reacted to this

Steve Herschbach (Inactive) 32 Report post Posted October 3, 2013 Hey Bob, Truth be told I did not, but I got curious about how it would fare head to head with my Gold Bug Pro. Both are designed by detector guru Dave Johnson. Never having had both at the same time I decided to get another GMT, and tripped over a used one cheap just before my Nevada trip. Was just like old times and the GMT had gold in my pocket in no time. Needless to say I am glad to have one again. I'm liking this down south gig. You guys see the big California specimen I scored with Chris Ralph's help? https://www.facebook.com/detectorprospector Looks like winter up you way Dick. Hawkeye 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2013 Beautiful piece of quartz and gold. There's another nice piece posted on AZO's forum that was found in Northern Nevada also. Still some good gold out there. Wes.
Steve Houston 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2013 WOW! That looks better now that you have the dirt cleaned off. Rick stayed an extra day and found six more pieces. One at the bottom of the hill and five where I left off. I'll get mine cleaned and try to post a pic here.

Steve Houston 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2013 Here are a few small nuggets I found in Nevada. The smaller of the two weighs 3.1 grams and the larger 3.6 grams. Rick, my brother-in-law, found a piece that weighed 6.8 grams (darn him). I did teach him how to nugget hunt and now usually beats me but he works hard at it.
