A Journey Into The World's Deepest Gold Mine

Recommended Posts

A nasty environment to be sure. At shallower depths working underground can be quite pleasant. But that deep hot stuff is rough. It was 140 at the lowest depths of the Comstock in Virginia City, not nearly as deep as the South African mines, but closer to hot rock, and in the Comstock they did not have the modern engineering and equipment.

Terrible work, no question about it.
