diggingbar 13 Report post Posted April 9, 2015 The Gold Rush Alaska show has shown improvement, at least. Still not my favorite. Yukon Gold is a great show in my book. …. and you know you're a prospector if your backyard is full of five gallon buckets of ore samples and black sand from placering. JR BOI 11 Report post Posted April 9, 2015 Interesting article in the Yukon News about the negative impact these reality shows are having on "real" placer operations. http://yukon-news.com/news/placer-miners-worry-reality-tv-is-tarnishing-their-image/
Geowizard 122 Report post Posted April 9, 2015 The other option is a still camera shooting video of a vibrating screen for an hour. A follow-up one hour segment with a camera zoomed in on a suction pump! - Geowizard

Geowizard 122 Report post Posted April 10, 2015 Yes, BS detection is my expertise. I keep my BS detector turned "ON" at all times. Amazing amount of BS out there! That's why I started the thread "Prospecting 101". Learning any subject involves creating a "foundation" of understanding that supports further learning. BS causes cracks in the building of knowledge. It's a construction project! Forums like this provide an opportunity for personal learning. - Geowizard
Reno Chris 101 Report post Posted April 10, 2015 No, you were talking about BSing other prospectors, not detecting it. Changing the subject to BS detecting is in its own way a form of BS you are dealing out. BS causes cracks in the building of knowledge. I agree, which is why I am doing my best to detect the BS and prevent or correct it.

Geowizard 122 Report post Posted April 13, 2015 Differences of opinion can lead to confusion in the process of learning. Prospecting is no exception. There will always be opinions that evolve from experiences that result from different working environments. The perception of the observer in one case versus another may be affected by having a different purpose or objective. Citing trivial differences for the purpose of gaining or maintaining "the high ground" in discussion is not productive. I encourage respect for others and tolerance for differences in experience. - Geowizard
