Of course it varies so widely from place to place.


In places like Nevada or Arizona, you may have reasonable road access and not too far a drive to any standard supplies.


In Alaska, you may need to fly in everything.


In places like West Africa, you may need to fly in everything and not have access to the planes needed to do that!

Today, logistics allows us to place a parapalegic atop Mt. Everest.


I've often daydreamed about the goldrushers of 1849 California or the Corps Of Discovery in 1804.  History is full of the stories of adventure.


It's true that we can get anywhere on our Earth, in comfort, if the price is right.  But where has the adventure gone?
