Alaska Water Sampling Workshop For Placer Miners

The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC)
is presenting a water sampling workshop for operators covered under the Mechanical
Placer Miners General Permit
.


The workshop is an opportunity to become familiar with water
quality monitoring requirements under the permit and receive “hands-on”
training with water sample equipment such as turbidimeters and Imhoff cones.

 

The workshop is scheduled for

-         
Anchorage (Campbell Creek Science Center) on
Saturday, April 27, 2013 from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm; and

-         
Fairbanks (Carlson Center) on Monday, April 29,
2013 from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

What to Bring:  
brown-bag lunch, outdoor clothing (e.g., raingear and boots), notepad, and a
pen or pencil. Participants are encouraged to bring personal turbidimeters and
Imhoff cones, if available.
